“We are excited to have five new members join us along with many longtime board members who have kept Habitat moving forward in Holmes County,” stated Nate Troyer, President of Holmes County Habitat for Humanity.  “Several of long-time members retired at the end of 2017.  Deb Berner, former President and Vice President; Ruth Crissey, former long-term secretary; Tom Rochelle, construction team; and Chuck Wyatt, site selection chair; have all dedicated many years to Habitat and we are very grateful for their years of service to our Affiliate.”

Other board members currently serving Habitat in addition to Troyer and those just elected, include Tiffany Stefano, Vice President; Jenny Lauriha, Secretary; Donna Wyatt, Treasurer; Linda Campbell, Jill Dial, Chad Heller, Ryan Hershberger, Pete Hilty, Construction Supervisor; Janet Mann, Sue Rochelle, and Eric Strouse.  Deb Berner serves an advisory board member and Mary Neutzling is the Affiliate’s executive director.

Habitat for Humanity provides a hand up, not a hand out for families who do not qualify for a conventional home loan.  The affiliate partners with families in Holmes County to purchase simple, decent and affordable homes and build the homes together.  The homes are sold with an affordable, interest free 25 – 30-year mortgage. The mortgage payments received are applied to a revolving fund which provides money for Habitat to build additional homes.
